To promote collaborations between local United Nations Association (UNA) and Model United Nations (MUN) groups, providing a national discussion body to further development of UNAs, democratising MUNs whilst engaging and supporting students across the UK.
PURPOSE & MISSION
Firstly, to connect student and youth UNAs from across the United Kingdom, providing a national collaborative platform to share best practices, stimulate conversation and promote campaigns with the support of the wider UNA-UK network. Secondly, to democratise Model United Nations (MUN) and make it accessible to British and International young people in the UK. We aim to use MUN as a platform to educate youth on global governance and decision-making whilst providing them with the opportunity to actively participate in that process.
CURRENT PROJECTS
Designed specifically for youths by youths, this guide aims to give a proper understanding of MUN and allows small groups to establish MUN groups independently.
Delivered virtually, this school teaches skills needed to conduct MUNs, including public speaking, debate, diplomacy, speech writing and research methodologies.
An international virtual conference for youths, a competition-like event where we work together to learn, challenge and enhance our worldview.
UNA & MUN DIRECTOR
Aman is currently an A-Levels student studying Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, hoping to pursuit a career in Medicine. Aman has participated in multiple MUN conferences and now is eager to step behind the scenes and increase inclusivity for all students. Aman intends to support universities and schools nationally to set up MUN conferences so that students are more aware of conflict on a global scale and how the UN functions in order to tackle these issues.
